"Amica - Inlaid in this piece are aventurine beads, and an opalescent glass bead that glints a beautiful phosphorescent blue at different angles. A clay bead embedded with sand from a trip to the Caribbean dangles below the centerpiece. Inspired by Roman Egyptian period portraits, the act of collecting sea shells, ancient Cycladian design, and whimsy.
It started as a simple sketch, tucked away and forgotten about in the fray of life. Then, upon rediscovering it, I set about combining my love of illustration and my previous experimentations in polymer clay and jewelry making. Art, love, and joy are all present within.
