Humble Horse is an acrylic on canvas piece by the third generational artist, Mads TenCate. Throughout her adulthood she has extensively traveled The American West for her work as a campaigns and editorial photographer, always taking a piece of the road with her by collecting soil samples. Once home, breaking these earth samples down and processing them into paint, Humble Horse stands on top of processed mica collected from washes in the Sonoran Desert. “Look After Each Other” as a written reminder that all we have at the end of the day is the Earth, and each other. We must do our best to protect what is sacred.
With a hand made frame made from 1950’s barn wood sourced from an old ranch in Encinitas, CA, Humble Horse is ready to add a pop of the Earth to anyone’s home.
