Discover the timeless art of leatherwork in this hands-on beginner’s class. Learn the fundamentals of leathercraft through a tactile, two-hour workshop rooted in traditional craftsmanship.
Guided step-by-step by local leather artisan Alejandro Ruelas, you’ll cut, stamp, punch, stitch, and burnish your own leather keychain or bag charm, a simple yet beautiful project using the same premium leather found in fine U.S. saddlery and goods since 1867.
You’ll learn how to:
• Cut and shape your leather pattern
• Stamp and personalize your piece
• Hand-stitch using the saddle-stitch method
• Burnish and finish edges
• Install hardware
You’ll leave with a personalized piece that’s both functional and uniquely yours.
A quiet, tactile process for slowing down and creating something that will last.
All materials and tools are provided.
5pm.
Hosted by Alejandro Ruelas
Please note: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop cannot be refunded or rescheduled, as our teachers and team prepare materials and supplies specifically for each participant. Thank you for your understanding.
