Leather Notebook Workshop - Wed Feb 25th
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create an A5 leather notebook cover designed to be used daily and kept for years. Made from the same American vegetable-tanned leather trusted in fine saddlery since 1867, the notebook uses a simple refillable system that allows you to replace journals as needed while continuing to use the same leather cover over time.
You’ll work from prepared leather panels in your choice of color, shaping and finishing a minimal, functional notebook cover that becomes more personal through regular use, wear, and patina. This can be a cute Valentine’s Day gift.
Guided by Alejandro Ruelas, founder of Ruelas Co., a premium leather goods brand focused on timeless design and long-lasting materials, you will:
Transfer a pattern and cut leather from a prepared leather panel
Personalize your cover using vintage leather stamps and tools
Punch holes and set solid brass grommets using a professional press
Burnish and finish edges using traditional techniques
Assemble the notebook with elastic binding
Each participant will leave with:
A completed leather A5 notebook cover
One complimentary A5 notebook insert
All materials and tools are provided.
Limited to six participants to allow for individual support, intentional pacing, and a focused working environment.
5pm.
Please note: Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop cannot be refunded or rescheduled, as our teachers and team prepare materials and supplies specifically for each participant. Thank you for your understanding.
